On this website. Your cart is saved in your own browser so that it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device and is not sent to us until you check out. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as pages requested and the time, to keep the site running and secure.

Why we collect it

  • To process, pack and deliver your order, and to email you a confirmation.
  • To reply to your enquiries and, where needed, deal with returns or product concerns.
  • To keep records we are required to keep, such as tax and sales records.
  • To keep the website secure and working properly.

We do not sell your information. We only send you marketing emails if you have asked to receive them.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services we use to run the shop, and only as needed for them to do their job:

  • Stripe to take payment, including card and Afterpay.
  • Our delivery provider so that your order reaches you.
  • Our website hosting and email services to run this site and send our emails.

Some of these services store information on servers outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it appropriately. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for as long as they are useful and then deleted.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Payments are handled by Stripe, which is built to protect card details.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. To do this, or to ask us to delete information we no longer need, email team@asylum.nz. We will respond within the time the Privacy Act sets.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
